Curtis was born in Yarrawonga, Victoria, Australia her parents were Carmencita Ojales a Filipina from Bolinao Pangasinan and James Ernest Curtis-Smith, an Australian lawyer. Her father married Ojales, a Filipina from Bolinao in the year 1982. Jasmine the younger sister is an actor. Clare passed away from an illness of the heart in 2007, when she was just four months old.
